Yesenia Velez

As director of community development for the United Way of Orange County, Yesenia Velez works with the Women’s Empowerment Portfolio and the Somos Familia Initiative focusing on the economic empowerment of minority communities. She helps mobilize grass-roots projects that focus on long-term financial independence for some of the county’s most underserved residents. She is chairman of the Board of Directors for the Orange County Community Housing Corporation, board member for the Orange County Human Relations Council and executive committee board member of the Santa Ana High School Latino Alumni Association.

Como directora de desarrollo comunitario para la organización United Way del condado de Orange, Yesenia Velez trabaja con “Women’s Empowerment Portfolio” y “Somos Familia Initiative” enfocándose en fortalecer el potencial económico de comunidades minoritarias. Ella trabaja para movilizar proyectos a nivel local que se enfocan en ayudar a los residentes más necesitados del condado a establecer su independencia financiera. Ella es presidente de la junta directiva de “Orange County Community Housing Corporation,” miembro del “Orange County Human Relations Council” y miembro ejecutivo del comité para “Santa Ana High School Latino Alumni Association.”
