WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A CAL STATE FULLERTON STUDENT?
Student 1:
I think the best thing about being a Titan is the campus community and being involved in different aspects of the campus. I’m involved in student government and I’m also involved in intramural sports and you meet a lot of people that way. I’m also involved in my individual college, so I’ve networked a lot with other people that have gone on and done bigger and better things. I’ve networked with Vicki Vargas, who’s amazing, and I’ve also been able to go to Sacramento and lobby on behalf of all the students. I think that being involved and being a part of the campus community is my favorite thing about being a Cal State Fullerton student.
Student 2:
They put our education before anything, so it’s really good to have professors that care and faculty and services that provides assistance for all our needs.
Student 3:
Growing up here in Orange County, L.A. County, I know the entire area, so coming here makes me feel better because I know the entire area by heart.
Student 4:
The coffee. They have a Starbucks on campus and, not only that, they have a Carl’s Jr. on campus. Actually, you know what? The best thing about Cal State Fullerton is that they have a Carl’s Jr. on campus, but instead of having Coke products like most Carl’s Jr.’s do, they have Mountain Dew, which are the two greatest things in the world to be combined: Carl’s Jr. and Mountain Dew.
Student 5:
I would have to say the best thing about being a Cal State student is the diversity on campus. You get to meet cool people who are not all the exact same and from different parts of the state.
WHAT EXACTLY IS A "TITAN?"
Student 1:
What it means to be a Titan? When I see our baseball team on t.v., it makes me proud to be from Cal State Fullerton. Anything sports-related. That’s when my true “titan-ness” comes out of me.
Student 2:
As a Titan myself, I feel pretty proud that I go to school here. It has a good business school. I would say strength. That’s what it means to me.
Student 3:
My interpretation of what a Titan is consists of a couple different things. Titans, back in the day, if you go back to Greek mythology, were bigger than the Greek gods. They actually were the parents of the Greek gods, so it makes us into this amazing powerhouse of “Titan-ness.” Then we have the elephant, which is “Tuffy” that comes in because we had the elephant races. So, we have Tuffy the Titan, and he is amazing in and of himself because he is this symbolic representation of Cal State Fullerton pride coming together. So, I think that being a Titan means that we’re this amazing body of pride and force backing our athletics, we also show it in our schoolwork, and I just think that being a Titan is what Cal State Fullerton is all about.
Student 4:
A Titan can be anyone from myself to Bruce Bowen, who graduated from our university, so it’s anyone that represents Cal State Fullerton to the fullest.
Student 5:
What I think it means to be a Titan is to be a well-rounded individual who’s very dedicated and hardworking toward their craft. Cal State Fullerton has definitely prepared students for careers outside of college.
