Register and Post Positions

At CSUF we understand the value of forging strong and lasting partnerships with our community. Community organizations serve as co-educators to our students while receiving the benefit of student ideas, talents and service. As a CSUF Community Partner offering academic internships or service-learning opportunities to our students, you will help guide new generations as they enter the workforce.

It is the responsibility of the Center for Internships & Community Engagement to ensure that our students are both safe and receiving an academically appropriate experience while undertaking an internship. The CICE Site Registration is a simple process that provides the information that is necessary in order for us to determine that a site is a legitimate and safe environment for academic interns and the position is of a sufficient academic caliber to award credit.

Creating a Profile and Position

These step-by-step site registration instructionsPDF File Opens in new window will guide you through the process of registering in our Titan Connection system and completing our safety and risk management procedures.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Academic Internship and Service-Learning sites should be aware that:

  • Students are not permitted to drive or transport clients during academic internship hours unless insurance is provided by the internship site (evidence of insurance may be requested).
  • Sites are expected to maintain liability insurance at statutory minimum levels.
  • Remote internships, where the student works from home or campus and submits work online or via meetings in a public space, are welcome. As CICE generally does not approve internships at residential addresses (home-based businesses), this may be a viable alternative.

Titan Connection

Titan Connection is an online database that allows our students to search and apply online for opportunities. You may specify details as to preferred candidate qualifications, experience and the nature of the assignment in your posting. This service is completely FREE and you may post as many opportunities as you wish for up to a year at a time. You may log in at any time to change, extend or create new postings. The system also allows you to access many other tools for recruiting students from our campus. Please ensure that you follow the step-by-step instructions closely in order to avoid delays in processing.

Brief Health & Safety Questionnaire

To ensure that campus risk management policy is observed, we ask all community partners to complete a brief health and safety questionnaire. Your answers allow us to determine if there are any conflicts between your site and University protocols and if a site visit is required. In most cases, a visit is not required and registrations are approved shortly after the questionnaire is completed.

Learning Agreement

It is the policy of the university to seek safe and meaningful experiences for students participating in academic internships and service-learning placements. To reduce the likelihood of physical injury, property damage, and liability exposure, the university has developed policies, procedures and guidelines to reduce the risk to students in such programs. Potential placement sites must review and sign a learning agreement in order to host CSUF students.
