Saturday, May 22, 2010: Rudy Hanley, President and Chief Executive Officer of SchoolsFirst FCU

Rudy HanleyRudy Hanley is the President and CEO of SchoolsFirst FCU formerly known as Orange County Teachers FCU headquartered in Santa Ana, California. The credit union, with $8 billion in assets, provides a full range of up-to-date financial services to more than 400,000 Members from thirty branch locations, and is the third party administrator for school retirement plans for more than 140 school districts in Southern California .

As a Member-owned financial cooperative, SchoolsFirst FCU's number one priority is to provide the highest quality service to school employees and their family members. This has helped it become the largest educational credit union in the nation and the 5th largest overall.

Prior to joining SchoolsFirst FCU in 1982, Mr. Hanley worked for the California Credit Union League (CCUL) and the Washington, D.C. office of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). He started his career as a high school math teacher and tax and small business consultant.

A graduate of the University of California at Irvine, Mr. Hanley has a Bachelors degree in mathematics and a teaching credential. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Western State University, College of Law.

Mr. Hanley is a member of and has served on numerous boards and committees. He has written numerous articles and is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars.

 

Sunday, May 23, 2010: Paul Folino, Executive Chairman of Emulex Corporation

Paul FolinoAfter an illustrious career, Paul Folino presently serves as Executive Chairman of Emulex Corporation after joining the company as President and Chief Executive Officer in May 1993. In this role, he focuses on strategic investments and initiatives for the NYSE publicly traded corporation with a market capitalization of over $850 million and over 80 million shares outstanding.

Mr. Folino has received numerous awards. He was recognized as the 1999 Orange County Co-Entrepreneur of the Year for technology; received Ernst & Young's 2000 Orange County Director of the Year for high-growth technology; was recognized in 2006 by the LA Times as “one of the top 100 most influential” people in Southern California; and was recognized by the Orange County Business Journal as one of the 2008 “Top 50 Most Influential Business Leaders” in Orange County. Cal State Fullerton awarded Mr. Folino the 2005 Orange County Titan award at its Front and Center Gala and, in 2006, he received the “Orange County Philanthropist of the Year” by the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.

As a devoted supporter of Cal State Fullerton and the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, Mr. Folino serves on many university boards. He is currently serving as a member of the Board of Governors and on the Mihaylo College Dean's Advisory Board. He also served as the Co-Chairman for the Mihaylo College Building on Excellence Capital Campaign. Not only did he inspire other friends and alumni to give to the campaign, he contributed a $1.2 million gift and the new street in front of Mihaylo Hall was named in his honor.

In addition to sitting on several Cal State Fullerton Boards, he also serves on the non-profit boards of Chapman University, Orange County High School of the Arts and the New Majority, as well as the Commercial Bank of California and Microsemi Corporation in the corporate sector.

 

Both of our keynote speakers will be receiving an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters at the commencement ceremony.
