Responding to media inquiries
Members of the campus community who receive inquiries about the university from the news media, including the Daily Titan, are encouraged to promptly notify Strategic Communications' media-relations office (Christopher Bugbee, director of media relations, 657-278-8487; Paula Selleck, senior communications officer, 657-278-4856).
Members of the campus community who elect to speak with the news media directly, including the Daily Titan, are encouraged to promptly report that contact to the media-relations office so that they may assist with a follow-up call and monitor the query while it remains active.
Strategic Communications' media-relations office is the primary point of initial contact for news media seeking an official, institutional response or comment from California State University, Fullerton. The office coordinates the university's responses to media requests to secure the fullest and most accurate representation of the university's position and interests. The office provides vetting of media inquiries and media representatives; background preparation and message review; identification of and counsel to campus interviewees; and assistance in interview scheduling. When appropriate, the office fulfills university-spokesperson responsibilities.
