The “Mouse Glove” project was Computer Engineering Program’s first Senior Design Project. The abstract of the project is as follows:

“The concept of the Glove Mouse project is to create a computer mouse that is worn on a user’s hand. Various hand movements and gestures would be translated to onscreen cursor movement and actions. For practicality and convenience, a goal in this project is to have all of the active components contained in the glove. Furthermore, another goal is to have the Glove Mouse detected by the computer as a standard USB mouse. Those two goals combined will allow the Glove Mouse to work with any computer without any setup other than to plug in the USB cable. The main hardware used in this project is the DEMOJM Flexis JM Family Demo board from Freescale. The core element of this project involves translating the outputted signals from an accelerometer into mouse cursor movements.”
