Who is Listed in the Online Alumni Directory
The Online Alumni directory defaults to displaying all CSUF alumni with the following, minimum information: name, former name,
preferred class year and all years attended and the majors. Other information such as birthdate, home address,
home phone, preferred e-mail address, business address, etc is information that will display if the alumnus
gives permission through opting-in. An alumnus makes the opt-in choices during registration and may change opt-in
selections later in the Alumni Portal by clicking on the 'Directory/Login Info' button in the Profile tab. To register, go to the CSUF Home Page (https://www.fullerton.edu)
and click on the 'Portal' button at the top right side of the page. The Portal logon page
should display. In the logon box on the lower left, click on "Alumni: Register here". The Alumni Portal Registration
search page appears. Continue as instructed.

How to Search the Online Alumni Directory
Enter data in one or more of the search criteria fields. The resulting list defaults to displaying
10 results (alumni) per page and sorting by preferred class year, then name. To change the
number of results per page, select a different number on the 'results per page' dropdown list. To change
the list order, select a different sort field from the primary and secondary dropdown list under 'Sort Criteria'.
Click on the 'Search' button to start the search.

Preferred Class Year
Preferred class year is the class year the alumnus prefers to use when the alumnus has multiple degrees. If the
alumnus has one degree, the preferred class year defaults to that degree year.

Search Criteria
Enter data in one or more search criteria fields. When more than one search criteria is
entered, the search will find the Alumni records that meet all the search criteria.
- First Name - Search will get records that contain the first name criteria.
i.e. Enter 'beth' and the search brings back records with first names of 'Beth', 'Elizabeth',
'Marybeth', etc.
- Last Name - Search will get records that start with the last name criteria.
i.e. Enter 'sa' and the search brings back records with last names of 'Saldana', 'Santana', 'Sandy', etc.
- Former Name(s) - Search will get records that start with the former name criteria.
- Class Year - Search will get records that have the degree with the class year or the class year
criteria matches the 'preferred class year'. If major has search criteria also, the search will get records
where a degree has the class year and major or the record has the preferred class year and major.
- Major - Search will get records that have the major.
- Industry - Search will get records within the industry selected.

Sort Criteria
Primary and secondary sort criteria default to sorting on 'preferred class year' then 'name'. May select
different fields to sort on from the primary and secondary dropdown lists under 'Sort Criteria'. The #1 in
'class year #1' and 'major #1' refer to the degree #1 class year and major respectively.

Upload Picture to your Directory Page
To display a picture with your information in the directory, click on this link at top of Alumni Directory Search page.
A window pops up that allows you to browse to your picture file. Select desired file (must be a jpeg and no wider than 200 pixels
and no bigger than 90KB.(the height is up to you)) and click on
'apply changes'. Once the file is uploaded, click on the 'Alumni Dir' tab to go back to the Alumni Directory Search page.
To stop uploading your picture, click 'cancel' and the Alumni Directory Search page will redisplay.

Alumni Directory Results Page
Result Page Layout
- The 'Search Information' displays at the top of the page. Here, you can see how many result pages there are,
total records found, records per page, result list order and the search critera entered.
- Next are the links to the result pages and a 'Go to page' field. These are used to navigate to the
page you want.
- Finally, the data displayed are the name, former name(s),
preferred class year, degree class years and majors. Note, #1 refers to degree #1 and #2 refers to
degree #2 and so on. Click on the name to display all the information for that alumnus.
Result Page Navigation

You may go directly to a result page by typing in the page # in
the 'Go to page' field and then clicking on 'Go'. Another navigation option is to click on a page number,
'Previous Page' or 'Next Page'. The page number that you are on displays in black. 'Previous Page' appears
when you are on page 2 or greater. 'Previous Page' takes you to the page prior to the page you are on.
'Next Page' appears if there is more than one result page and you are not on the last page. 'Next Page'
takes you to the page after the page you are on. Click on 'New Search' to do another search.
Result Page Sorting

You may sort result page data by clicking on a heading. The result data will sort by the heading clicked, then
by name. Each time a heading is selected for a sort, it toggles between sorting in ascending order (arrow up) and
descending order (arrow down). Note, initially after a search, the sorts selected default to ascending order.
Send E-mail to Alumni

There are two ways to send an e-mail to other alumni.
1) Select the envelope link in the Online Directory result page next to the person you wish to send an e-mail to.
(Note, an envelope will not appear if there is no valid e-mail address on file for that alumnus or the alumnus
has blocked e-mail by selecting 'N' for Allow e-mail from "Send E-mail to Alumni" feature.)
2) Select the "Send E-mail to Alumni" link at top of the search results page.
If the envelope link is selected, a screen appears with the person's name displayed after TO:. Just type the message
and click 'submit'.
If the "Send E-mail to Alumni" link is selected, a window will popup that asks for a name. Enter the last name or last name, first name. Click 'Find'. Search will
bring back records (up to 100) in dropdown list format that match all search criteria. Search will get records that
contain the first name criteria and records that start with the last name criteria. i.e. Enter 'beth' as the
first name and the search brings back
records with first names of 'Beth', 'Elizabeth', 'Marybeth', etc. Enter 'sa' as the last name and the search brings
back records with last names of 'Saldana', 'Santana', 'Sandy', etc.. (Note, an alumnus name will not appear in the
search result list if there is no valid e-mail address on file for that alumnus or the alumnus
has blocked e-mail by selecting 'N' for Allow e-mail from "Send E-mail to Alumni" feature.) Select desired name from the list and
click 'Add Name' to add to TO: list. TO: list may contain 1 name ONLY. Type message, then click 'send'.
To remove a name from the TO: list: Select name in TO: list and click on
'Remove Name' to delete name from TO: list.
Change What Information of Yours is Displayed

Click on Profile tab and then click on 'Directory/Login Info' button. A window will popup that displays your current
opt-in settings, home web url, industry, secret question, secret answer. Any of these
items may be changed here as well as your Alumni Portal username and password. To change your username,
click 'Y' next to username and your current username will display. Type in new username. To change your password,
click 'Y' next to password and a text box will appear. Type in new password here and then type in 'retype password'
field to verify you have typed in password desired. Click 'submit' to apply changes. Username and password changes
are effective on the next login. Opt-in changes will be effective on the next Online Alumni Directory Search.
To cancel, close window without clicking 'submit'.
