  Financial Aid

Financial Aid is only available for experiences awarding credit ("study abroad"). Generally, work, intern, and volunteer opportunities do not grant academic credit and cannot be funded by financial aid. If you plan on using financial aid, be sure to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible—at least six months before your program starts. FAFSA packets are available at the Office of Financial Aid, UH-177, or on the web.

There is no fee to apply for financial aid, so it is ideal to apply for aid even before you have applied to your program. The earlier you apply, the earlier you can find out your award and plan a budget.

If you have never used financial aid before, consult with the Office of Financial Aid about your options and timing. Refer to the Office of Financial Aid web resources.
