Groups
The WoMen's Center offers group opportunities for women and men.
The intensity of participant and facilitator interaction is defined by the kind of group:
Level 1: Discussion Group
Student Intern/Paraprofessional Facilitator
A discussion among participants who have an agreed (serious) topic. Group members often drive the discussion with their personal concerns.
Level 2: Support Group
Paraprofessional Facilitator
A group of people with common concerns and experiences who provide emotional and moral support for one another. The facilitator is more involved in the flow and direction of the group.
Level 3: Therapy Group
Professional Facilitator
A form of psychosocial treatment where a small group of students meet regularly to talk, interact, and discuss problems with each other, usually with a common theme. The facilitator is a pre-licensed or licensed counselor who creates a safe environment for group members to disclose and share with each other.
