The Academic Advisement Center, in partnership with the Office of University Outreach, hosted a conference for Cal State Fullerton’s community college partners; Counselors Collaborating for Student Success, in Spring 2007. In an effort to create the most effective conference, a brief survey was sent to over 40 local community college counselors and transfer center directors. A 70% response rate indicated the need and excitement for this conference. The conference content was based on this needs assessment and results of the evaluations from the conference illustrated an overwhelming positive response. 100% of the respondents would like the conference to be offered annually.
It is our hope to create a more seamless transition to CSUF and consequently decrease time to degree for our transfer students, as well as forge close relationships with the institutions from which our students transfer. We hope to continue our efforts to support our CSUF transfer students through continued collaboration with our community college partners.
