Academic Programs
The Associate Vice President for Academic Programs, in consultation with College Deans, the Academic Senate and appropriate faculty committees, has overall responsibility for the development and quality review of programs that lead to academic degrees. The Associate Vice President takes leadership roles focused on graduate programs, international programs, academic program performance review, and off-site programs. The Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Programs takes leadership roles focused on undergraduate programs, including general education. Both Associate Vice Presidents assist in the implementation of university and system policies and in assuring the quality of the curriculum and academic programs.
The Associate Vice President for Academic Programs oversees Graduate Studies, Scheduling / Classroom Allocation, Classroom Technology Support, the Gianneschi Center for NonProfit Research, and the Center for Public Policy. In addition, the Associate Vice President is the campus accreditation liaison for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and provides oversight of professional program accreditation. The Associate Vice President also coordinates implementation of the CSU Accountability mandates, and other special projects as they arise.
Offices reporting to the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Programs include Academic Advising Services, Center for Careers in Teaching, Center for Internships and Service Learning, Freshman Programs, University Honors Program, Health Professions and University Outreach. The Associate Vice President also coordinates implementation of other special projects as they arise.
