What is The Summer Bridge Program?

It's a six-week, residential program during late June and the month of July for 110 incoming EOP students at California State University Fullerton. Students in the program will attend English, Math and/or other General Education classes during the program with week-ends off. Except for the cost of the 6 units of college-level coursework you will take during Summer Bridge and the required textbooks, the entire program is free of charge.

Who Should Apply for Summer Bridge?

Students who want to improve their chances for success at the university and students who think they may not qualify for admission to California State University Fullerton should apply. Note: Summer Bridge is an admissions requirement for some students.


How Will I Benefit from the Program

As A Summer Bridge student you will:
bullet Jump start your success by attending university classes in math, English and/or general education areas.
bullet Improve you study skills.
bullet Attend an exciting variety of on campus lectures, cultural entertainment, and special events.
bullet Receive introductions and invitations to join various student clubs and organizations.
bullet Work with professionals who will help you grow as an individual, as well as a student.
bullet Meet new friends and create a support system.
bullet Get to know faculty and staff members at Cal State Fullerton.
bullet Gain confidence to begin the fall semester.

What should I Do To Be Considered for the Program?
bullet Apply to Cal State Fullerton and mark Box 14 for EOP on the application.
bullet Apply for financial aid before the March deadline. Call the Financial Aid Office at CSUF for more information at (714) 278-3125, or log on to

bullet Fill out and return the Summer Bridge application to the address listed at the bottom of the application.
bullet Take the required Cal State Math and English Placement Test (ELM/EPT) no later than May 1.
bullet Meet with your EOP counselor to register for summer classes and choose your fall classes before June 1.
