Student Retention Services (SRS)
is committed to student success and reflects the understanding that students success
is largely dependent on how the student feels about their experiences at CSUF. Students
who develop a strong commitment to CSUF are more likely to achieve their personal
and academic goals and move on to graduation.
Statistics Comparing the achievement of EOP and non-EOP students reveal that EOP
students are more likely to say in college and obtain a bachelor’s degree. So
what can your partnership with EOP and Student Retention Services do for you?
Academic Advising – You will
be teamed with counselor who will guide you through the ins and outs of academic life.
Your counselor will meet with you on a regular basis to review your short-and long-term
goals to ensure that you stay on track. Your counselor is your personal advocate,
an “insider” who can help you with questions regarding developing a course
plan, registration, financial aid, learning skills, grades and any other academic
issues you will encounter as a college student.
Counseling – Professional counselors
and graduate student advisers are available to assess and evaluate your academic and
personal needs. By taking your physical, economic, social and cultural environment
into consideration, SRS counseling staff members will work to involve you in academic
and extracurricular activities that will integrate you into the campus community and
promote your personal well being and success.
The SRS Counseling staff provides services
and activities (assessment, course selection, referrals, graduate school and scholarship
information, computers, etc.) that actively support the CSU
mission statement "Learning Is Preeminent". |
