Accepting Admission & Enrollment Deposit Frequently Asked Questions

 

What is accepting admission?

Accepting admission is your "Intent to Enroll" into CSU Fullerton. All newly admitted students (Undergraduate and Graduate), are required to accept admission and pay the enrollment deposit in order to reserve a space in our class. Accepting admission allows CSU Fullerton to more effectively plan for class offerings and student resources in preparation for each coming semester. In addition, it allows CSU Fullerton to more accurately project new student enrollment. The admission acceptance and deposit must be received by the deadlines below.

SPRING 2015 DEADLINES

Transfers: November 15th
Note: Applicants admitted after November 1st have two weeks from the date of admission, printed on the admit letter, to accept their admission offer.

Graduates: As determined by the Department or by the start of the term.

FALL 2015 DEADLINES

First-Time Freshmen: May 1st
Note: Applicants admitted after April 15th have two weeks from the date of admission, printed on the admit letter, to accept their admission offer.

Transfers: June 1st
Note: Applicants admitted after May 15th have two weeks from the date of admission, printed on the admit letter, to accept their admission offer.

Graduates: As determined by the Department or by the start of the term.

Who is required to accept admission?

All newly admitted students (Undergraduate and Graduate), who intend to enroll at CSU Fullerton, must accept their offer of admission and pay their enrollment deposit.

What is the enrollment deposit?

Students are required to pay a non-refundable enrollment deposit of $250 with their admission acceptance. This enrollment deposit is required in order to reserve a space in our class. The deposit will offset a portion of your Registration Fees for the first semester.

How early can I accept my admission and pay my enrollment deposit?

You must be admitted to CSU Fullerton in order to be eligible to accept your admission and pay your enrollment.

FALL 2015 OPENING

Accepting admissions opens on February 20, 2015 for the Fall 2015 admission

What are the conditions for receiving a waiver for the enrollment deposit?

The enrollment deposit will be waived for students receiving full financial assistance. If you qualify for the waiver, you must still accept your admission offer by the deadline date. You know you qualify for the waiver if:

  • You have received a Federal Student Aid Report with an Expected Family Contribution of $0.
  • You are a candidate for a Presidential Scholar Award or an Athletic Scholarship.
  • You are an International student with full government sponsorship. 

How can I find out if I qualify for a waiver?

When you go online to your Student Portal to accept your admission, the system will inform you if you qualify for a waiver. 

What happens if I pay the deposit and find out later that I qualified for a waiver?

The enrollment deposit will be held on your student account until other funds are disbursed to cover your first semester charges. At that time, any excess amounts will be refunded to you. 

How do I accept admission and pay the enrollment deposit?

Students can accept admission through their Student Center within the Student Portal. Under the Admissions area of the Student Center (at the very bottom of the page), click on the Application Status link. The Accept/Decline button will be displayed. Click on the Accept/Decline button to accept your admission to CSU Fullerton.

To accept your admission online, you must either qualify for the waiver or pay the enrollment deposit via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or electronic check. If you qualify for a deposit waiver, the online process will automatically notify you. You will receive an email confirmation once your acceptance and deposit have been accepted. Please note that payments take up to 24 hours to post to your Student Account. You will receive a secondary email once your payment has successfully posted. The email will be sent to your CSU Fullerton email address, which can be accessed through your Student Portal.

Who is required to pay the enrollment deposit?

All new students who do not qualify for a waiver are required to pay a non-refundable enrollment deposit of $250 to secure a place in the class.

When do I pay the enrollment deposit?

You must pay the enrollment deposit at the time you accept admission to CSU Fullerton. You will receive an email confirmation when you accept and make a payment. Once the payment has posted to your Student Account, another email we will be sent to confirm the payment has been received and your admission acceptance has been confirmed. The email will be sent to your CSU Fullerton email address, which can be accessed through your Student Portal

How long does it take for my enrollment deposit payment to post to my Student Account?

Please allow up to 24 hours for your payment to post to your Student Account. Once the payment has posted, we will send you a confirmation email. The email will be sent to your CSU Fullerton email address, which can be accessed through your Student Portal

What is the deadline to accept admission and pay the enrollment deposit?

What else is required after I have accepted my admission?

First-Time Freshmen must sign up for New Student Orientation by May 15, 2015. In addition, First-Time Freshmen must adhere to all admission deadlines, including the ELM/EPT placement test and the final high school transcript deadline. In addition, if you are required to complete Early Start, you must complete the Smart Page by June 1st and complete your Early Start activity by August 15th.  Most importantly, you must meet the conditions of your admission.

Transfers must adhere to all admission deadlines, including grade cards and the final college transcript deadline. In addition, all transfers must sign up and attend (online or in-person) Transfer Student Orientation before they can register for their first semester of courses. Most importantly, you must meet the conditions of your admission.

Graduates must adhere to all admission deadlines, including department deadlines.

REMINDER: We highly recommend all students periodically check your Student Portal to view your "To Do List" item and other important admission information.

What happens if I don't accept admission or pay the enrollment deposit?

If you do not accept admission or pay the enrollment deposit by the deadline for your class level, your admission will be rescinded and you will not be able to enroll at CSU Fullerton.

What if I cannot pay the enrollment deposit online?

The Student Portal (online) accepts credit cards and electronic checks. If you can only pay with cash, please visit the Admissions and Records Service Center at LH-114. You will receive a form that you need to bring to the Cashier's window on campus where you can pay with cash. Your admission will be accepted within 24 to 48 hours after your payment is made. How will the deposit funds be applied?

The deposit will appear as a credit on your student account and will be used to offset a portion of your Registration Fees for the first semester.

Will CSU Fullerton accept partial payment?

No. CSU Fullerton will not accept partial payment of the enrollment deposit. It is important to note that if partial payment is received, the partial payment will remain on your student account and your acceptance for admission will not be confirmed until the full $250 amount of the deposit is received.

What happens if my payment does not go through successfully?

If your payment does not successfully process, we will notify you by email. The email will be sent to your CSU Fullerton email address, which can be accessed through your Student Portal. It is important to note that your acceptance for admission will not be confirmed until you successfully pay your enrollment deposit.

What happens if I decide not to attend CSU Fullerton after accepting my admission offer?

Please notify the Admission and Records office as soon as possible if you have decided not to attend. If you have already registered for classes, be sure to drop all of your classes. If you were required to pay the enrollment deposit, this amount will be forfeited as the deposit is not refundable. If you choose to consider enrolling at CSU Fullerton in the future, you will need to reapply for admission and meet the admission requirements and deadlines at that time.

I cannot find where to accept my admission offer?

To accept your admission offer, you must log into your Student Portal. Once in your Student Portal, click on Titian Online. Next, click on the Student Center. Within the Student Center, go to the Admissions area near the bottom of the screen and click on Application Status. In the Application Status, you will see the Accept/Decline button.

I received a notice that my payment was rejected. Why did this happen?

Most likely you entered an incorrect routing number when attempting to pay by electronic check. Please check with your financial institution to get the correct number before you attempt again.

I click "Pay Now" and nothing happens?

A payment window should have opened. If it did not, it is because you need to turn off your pop-up blockers. To try again, turn off your pop-up blockers. If you have trouble turning off your pop-up blockers, see the question below.
