Admissions Updates

Fall 2014 (First-Time Freshmen Undergraduate)

CSU Fullerton is closed for First-Time Freshmen applicants for Fall 2014.

Nursing Applicants: Admission to the Nursing major at CSU Fullerton for First-Time Freshmen is very competitive as CSUF continues to have more qualified applicants than available space in the program. To be considered for admission to Nursing, First-Time Freshmen applicants must demonstrate the following.

  • Minimum Eligibility Index: 4200 (SAT) or 1010 (ACT)
  • Chemistry: Grade of 'B' or higher (if AP then 'C' or higher) by end of your Junior year (11th grade)
  • Biology: Grade of 'B' or higher (if AP then 'C' or higher) by end of your Junior year (11th grade)

Computer Engineering integrated BS/MS Applicants: Admission to the integrated BS/MS in Computer Engineering is expected to be very competitive with limited space available. To be considered for admission, First-Time Freshmen applicants must demonstrate the following:

  • Successful completion of at least three (3) AP tests (scores of 3, 4, or 5) for a total of 10 semester units
  • One of the AP tests must be Mathematics/Calculus AB or Mathematics/Calculus BC (score of 4 or 5 is required)
  • Must meet CSU Fullerton Eligibility Index for the semester to which you are applying.

Music Applicants: Admission to the Music major is based on the performance of a successful Music Department Entrance Audition. Follow the link for detailed information about audition requirements, repertoire and scheduling of auditions. http://www.fullerton.edu/arts/music/music_prospstudents.html

Dance Applicants: Admittance into the Department of Dance program (Bachelor of Arts in Dance,) includes passing a live dance audition. Auditioning for the dance major does not qualify you for entrance into CSUF, only for being a dance major once admitted to the University. Fall 2014 (Graduate)

CSU Fullerton will begin accepting applications from graduate and post-baccalaureate applicants for the Fall 2014 term beginning October 1st. The Admissions Office continues to accept and review applications until enrollment goals have been met. Please be advised that due to enrollment pressures, we anticipate closing many admission categories quickly. Apply early!

Fall 2014 (Transfer Undergraduate)

CSU Fullerton is closed to Upper Division Transfer applicants for Fall 2014 with the exception of Business Online Administration (Professional Bus Concentration) and Sociology (Online offered in Extended Education)

CSU Fullerton is an impacted campus at the transfer level. Impaction means that there are more applications for a campus than can be accommodated. In order to ensure that capacity is not exceeded, more rigorous standards are applied to the transfer applicant pool. Impacted criteria may include local vs. out of local and major program impaction.

Nursing Applicants: Admission to the Nursing major at CSU Fullerton for Upper Division Transfers is very competitive as CSUF continues to have more qualified applicants than available space in the program. Prospective students must meet both Cal State Fullerton University admission requirements and the School of Nursing admission requirements. CSU Fullerton is closed for Spring 2014 admission applications with the exception of the Cal State Online Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Professional Business Concentration.
