What is FAC?
In Fall 1998, Families Across Cultures (FAC) began as a project
to bring together international graduate students, students with
families, and resident adult reentry students who have similar campus
experiences. Co-sponsored by the Office of International Education
& Exchange (IEE) and the Women's Center / Adult Reentry
Center and funded by Student Affairs, FAC provides networking opportunities
and resources vital to campus life for both international students
and U.S. students at CSUF.
The strength of the program lies in the diversity of its members
from countries such as Benin, Brazil, Chile, China, Dominica, Egypt,
Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Palestine,
Senegal, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
Come Join us!
All you need is an open mind, enthusiasm for rich intercultural
experiences, and commitment to help our FAC family grow.
The following are some of the activities organized by FAC:
Discussions: Adjustment to the U.S., creation stories and
myths across cultures, expectations and skills for handling reality,
and communication skills.
Workshops: campus safety, health care, job hunting, stress
management and yoga.
Potluck Parties: Sharing cultural foods.
