English Languages & Literatures Alumni Chapter
Shakespearian Classic Unites English Alumni
The English Languages & Literatures Alumni Chapter had another successful and enjoyable alumni event celebrating a Shakespearian classic. The chapter feasted on a lovely picnic supper provided by the English Alumni Chapter at Bonita Canyon Sports Park in Newport Beach prior to the main event, Romeo and Juliet. It was a beautiful night under the stars as members enjoyed the timeless classic of two star-crossed lovers.
Even with the anticipated tragic ending, the evening ended on a happy note. This theatrical experience with friends, food and fun is likely to be repeated next year. Thank you so much to all the attendees for helping make this event a huge success.
"Little Women the Musical" & Lunch at Roscoe’s Famous Deli
The English Languages & Literatures chapter had another successful and enjoyable Alumni event. Chapter members started off the day at Roscoe’s Famous Deli in Fullerton where they lunched on huge deli sandwiches and ate to their heart’s content while talking, laughing, and drinking unlimited refills of iced tea.
After lunch, the group headed over to Cal State Fullerton’s Clayes Performing Arts Center where they enjoyed the production of “Little Women the Musical.” The music, acting and even set design made the entire experience memorable.
With the success of the day, the chapter pledged to continue the event next year.
One for the Money
The English Languages and Literatures Alumni Chapter hit the big screen on Saturday, January 11 to watch “One for the Money”; the movie based off of best-selling author Janet Evanovich’s first Stephanie Plum novel, followed by dinner at Rutabbegorz in Downtown Fullerton. In the spirit of philanthropy, participants brought canned goods to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
Chapter member Donna Middleton ’03, M.A. ’10 commented, “This was a fun movie. I’m glad we were able to get together like this and collect food for those who need it. I enjoyed the novel and am willing to read more in the series.” The chapter will continue the discussion of the book and movie at its next book club meeting.
Chapter Bowl 2012

Member Tom Beeman, M.A. '08 commented, "It was a blast and I’m glad we were able to raise funds for our fellow Titans! Maybe next time I'll bowl a few more strikes."
