African-American Alumni Chapter Historian, Bobby McDonald (center), is joined by fellow alumni Senator Lou Correa (left) and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell (right) on Friday, June 6th at the Senator's "Legislative Breakfast Club" event. The forum series, focused on bringing state leaders to Orange County to discuss issues and legislation affecting California, was held at Rancho Santiago Community College.

Chapter Board members from the African American Alumni Chapter celebrated Black History Month with African American faculty and CSUF President, Dr. Milton A. Gordon, in February at the "America for All Americans: Helping America Understand" event.

Mission Statement

To create an environment whereby alumni of color can collaborate, inspire, and network to strengthen our community by:

  • Promoting the importance of higher education at CSUF to the underrepresented
  • Promote professional networking
  • Create mentoring opportunities for people of color
  • Social activity and community service
  • Promoting economic advancement
  • Acknowledgement of peers
