Chapter News

Gerontology

The Gerontology Alumni Chapter hosted their annual brunch at CSUF on February 9. The much anticipated social and networking event is held each year in February on the Golleher Alumni House Veranda. It is always a great opportunity to catch-up with former classmates, get an update on the Academic Program and network with other Gerontologists to find out what is happening in this exciting and growing field. Graduates in attendance ranged from the very first Gerontology Class of 2002 to an upcoming 2013 graduate. Alumni are making their marks in the world, both locally and internationally. Also in attendance were faculty who partner with the Alumni Chapter to help organize, sponsor and support events on campus. The group as a whole discussed business related to the Chapter including: upcoming nominations and elections of new Chapter leaders, sponsorship opportunities for this spring, and event ideas for the future.

Several of the attendees had not previously been to the Alumni House and commented on how lovely it is. One member noted "The connectedness and support of the group is remarkable. Not all alumni chapters have this kind of camaraderie."
