Gianneschi Summer School for Nonprofits Drew Record Breaking Numbers

Summer School for Nonprofits

The Nonprofit Professionals chapter co-sponsored the 6th annual Gianneschi Summer School for Nonprofits from July 11 - 15, attracting a record-breaking 530 participants from nonprofit organizations throughout Southern California. The event provided professional development opportunities to CSUF's organizational partners in the community, and where our students provide over 1.4 million hours of service each year. Proceeds from the event fund the annual Gianneschi Fellowship in Nonprofit Leadership, which helps to launch the nonprofit career of a graduating student through summer employment at a local nonprofit. This summer's fellowship is benefitting longtime CSUF partner, Working Wardrobes.

NPAA $1,000 Award

This $1,000 award was established by the Nonprofit Professionals Alumni Chapter and is open to continuing or graduating CSUF students who intend to seek a career in the nonprofit sector.

Nonprofit Professionals Get Their Groupon

grouponNonprofit Professionals alumni and friends enjoyed a spring mixer at the The Wooden Floor on May 25 featuring Michelle Patterson, CEO for Event Complete who provided great insight on how to use the latest internet sensation, Groupon, to market your business. Michelle was named Event Ambassador for Groupon, the internet sensation recognized by Forbes Magazine as the fastest growing company. She is also the author of Event Complete’s How to get your GROUPON, Event Complete’s Uncorked and the Event Complete book series. At the end of the presentation, Michelle generously provided each attendee a copy of her book. View photos 

Nonprofit Professionals Chapter Hosts Successful Spring Mixer

Spring Mixer The Nonprofit Professionals Alumni Chapter hosted an exciting mixer on the topic "Leveraging Political Resources for Nonprofits." Approximately 50 alumni and friends of the chapter attended this event at the Wooden Floor in Santa Ana to hear speakers Theresa "Tita" Smith, Mayor Pro Tem of Orange, Theresa Harvey '81, CEO and Executive Director of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce and Paddy Gough '80, Executive Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development at the Orange County Transportation Authority.

The Chapter also acknowledges its volunteers Brateil Aghasi '95 and Jessica Deakyne for planning the mixer. The first chartered chapter of the Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association, Nonprofit Professionals was formed in 1999 to provide professional development opportunities to those in the nonprofit sector and to encourage CSUF students to pursue careers in service. 2009 NPAA Awards Announced

2009 NPAA Awards Announced This year's awards were announced at the CSUF Community Engagement Awards reception on May 5, 2009. Since NPAA was formed in 1999, alumni contributions have funded $11,750 in awards to 13 students who are giving back by pursuing advanced degrees and/or careers that serve the public.
