Branding Yourself as a Business of One
Jeff Beals, the award-winning author of "Self Marketing Power" shared with attendees the art of self marketing and building one's personal brand on September 14 at a Joint Chapters Mixer at the O’Brien Room in Mihaylo College. Beals shared that the art of self marketing is difficult for a lot of people and provided tips to help build personal brand while striking a balance between healthy self promotion and egotistical boasting.
In attendance was current student, Conrad Hawk, who won a coaching session donated by Life Coach and alumna, Mina Watkins '01.
This event was co-hosted by the Accounting, Business Finance, Business Titans, College of Communications, Hispanic/Latino, Real Estate & Entrepreneur and Vietnamese-American MBA Chapters. View photos.
2011 Business Expo
The VAMBA Chapter participated in the inaugural 2011 Business Expo of Vietnamese and Korean American Chambers of Commerce (VACOC and KACCOC) at Garden Grove Community Center on September 14. Attendees were eager to learn about the networking opportunities for alumni interaction that the Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association offers. A majority of the local business owners are alumni of CSUF and are active members in the community. This event was a success and it had many fun filled activities throughout the day. Vietnamese-American MBA (VAMBA) Chapter Crowns Miss VAMBA 2011 at Summer Kickback BBQ Potluck
The VAMBA Chapter hosted the Summer Kickback BBQ Potluck on August 4 where attendees reengaged with college friends and made new connections. It was a full-filled afternoon as the new Miss VAMBA 2011, Yen Nguyen, was crowned. View photos.
Mid-Summer Night's Mingle - Networking Mixer at Phans55
The Business Finance, Hispanic/Latino and VAMBA (Vietnamese-American MBA) Chapters hosted a networking mixer at Phans55, a Vietnamese Bistro, on June 2. More than 50 alumni, students and guests attended to mingle and network at the cozy lounge and outdoor patio. Due to the popularity of this event, future joint mixers are in the works for the future. VAMBA Chapter Officers Discuss Upcoming Events and Strategies
The VAMBA Chapter hosted their executive committee meeting at the home of Chapter Treasurer Khanh Duong, MBA '04 on June 12 to discuss upcoming events and strategies for the next fiscal year. Events in the works include a summer BBQ, Career/Job Fair and Winter Year End Party. The Chapter will also participate in the Fall Titan Alumni Mega Mixer at the Flight Deck Air Combat Center. Alumni Enjoy Variety of Authentic Dishes at Potluck
Members of Vietnamese-American MBA Chapter celebrated the summer with a potluck at Mile Square Park on June 13. Dishes such as Cuon Nem and Khay Thach Dua were served at the potluck. The chapter used this time to reconnect with other chapter members and their families.
Annual Chapter Meeting
The VAMBA Chapter hosted their annual meeting at Dalat Bistro on April 24 to discuss upcoming events and strategies for the next fiscal year.

VAMBA Welcomed Ambassador Michael Michalak 2009
With hanging banners, enthusiastic applause and warm smiles, VAMBA welcomed the homecoming of U.S. Ambassador Michael Michalak from Vietnam on June 6. Despite the change in time zones and his eighteen-hour flight, the ambassador gracefully thanked his audience of Vietnamese-American students and alumni for their support towards the Cal State Fullerton global community.

The VAMBA Alumni Chapter held a very successful meeting at the Golleher Alumni House on campus. Guests enjoyed a special presentation given by Chapter President, Neil Tran, and sampled delicious Vietnamese food.
CSUF Delegation in Vietnam for Education Conference 2008
US Ambassador Michael Michalak invited VAMBA representatives to the Education Conference in Vietnam, January 24-25. Cal State Fullerton sent a seven member delegation, including three VAMBA members. Read More.

2007 VIBE Expo a Success!
The VAMBA Alumni Chapter of CSUF held their first-ever VIBE Expo event. This special event was held on campus at the Titan Student Union and kicked off a weekend expo for students, alumni, campus community and friends of CSUF to enjoy.

IMPACT 2006 Annual Gala 2006
Vietnamese-American MBA Chapter members from Cal State Fullerton enjoyed an evening of networking at the Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce annual gala at the Embassy Suites, Anaheim on Saturday, December 16th, 2006. Roundtable Sparks Golden Idea 2006
On April 6 VAMBA chapter members participated in a roundtable meeting at the Marriott Hotel in Fullerton regarding an update on Cal State Fullerton's Vietnamese Community.
President Milton Gordon, VP Judith Anderson, Professor Son Kim Vo, CSUF's Vietnamese Task Force members and several Deans and faculty were in attendance at this special meeting. Many Vietnamese community leaders including elected officials, community based organizations, the Chamber of Commerce and business leaders were also present.
At the meeting VAMBA chapter members were given the opportunity to present their "Golden Idea" which was accepted and approved on campus for plans with the university's 50th anniversary celebration.
Annual Gala for Recognizing Young Trailblazers 2006
This black-tie award event, taking place Friday, December 15, hosts a gourmet dinner, live entertainment and a fashion show featuring Miss Asia USA 2006 and Miss Vietnam Global 2006. For more information, see IMPACT 2006 event details.
Beach Party in Dana Point
The VAMBA chapter has been very busy over the last several months. A highlight of the groups' activates include a beach party in Dana Point during July where 25 VAMBA members and friends enjoyed each other's company. At this event the chapter members met new friends from San Francisco, San Diego, as well as Vietnam.
Vietcircles Website Development
Another event was held in August at Irvine Park to meet and plan for activities for the rest of the year. At this event, one of the chapter's new members, Dillon Dao, discussed creating a website for connecting/networking all Vietnamese American organizations, clubs and companies. Dillon has since created the site and he welcomes visitors at: www.vietcircles.com.
Silicon Valley Network
In September the chapter held a meeting with the executives of the Vietnamese Silicon Valley Network (VSVN) who showed interest in joining VAMBA for future events.
Fall Mixer at Dalat Bistro
VSVN organized a mixer and invited VAMBA to introduce the chapter to its own members. It was a successful networking event where people from a variety of industries interacted and socialized. The event took place at Dalat Bistro in Fountain Valley.
