College of Education is Seeking New Leaders

The College of Education Alumni Chapter is seeking leaders for the new 2012/13 school year and all positions are available. They are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Events Coordinator. White Tuffy Dinner Social

White Tuffy Dinner SocialThe College of Education Alumni Chapter hosted a “White Tuffy” dinner social on Saturday, January 28 where students and alumni enjoyed Blake’s Barbeque comfort food, a white elephant gift exchange and opportunity drawings. Alumni shared with students the paths that took them to their current positions, the jobs available now, and continuing education ideas. Students shared with alumni how education requirements have changed, their concerns with the economy and heard ideas about job market positioning for success. Attendees left the event with job ideas, new found treasures and new friends. View photos.


Getting Talent to the 100 Largest School Districts in America portrait of Dr. Carl Cohn

The Schools First Federal Credit Union and the College of Education Alumni Chapter in collaboration with the Business Finance Alumni Chapter jointly presented Dr. Carl Cohn , Co-Director and Professor of the Urban Leadership Program & Member of the State School Board, who enlightened the attendees on being change agents as educators. At the event, Kristy Mar was the proud winner of the Amazon Kindle.

Alumni Star of "Criminal Minds" in Area
"Criminal Minds" star and CSUF graduate Kirsten Vangsness (B.A. theatre arts '96) is scheduled to join fellow cast members of the CBS drama on Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts.

Earning Tuffy Bucks
Cal State Fullerton's Office of Environmental Health and Safety have instituted "Tuffy Bucks," a new incentive program to encourage students, staff and faculty members to learn and use safe work habits to stay safe and healthy on campus

Safety Training Recognized
Cari Elofson of Cal State Fullerton's Environmental Health and Safety Office is honored by American Society of Safety Engineers.

Mission

Established in September 2008, the Mission of the College of Education Alumni Association is to connect CSUF alumni, educators and the community at large to promote the advancement of the educational community.

Objectives

  • To provide connection and networking opportunities for educators
  • To act as liaison between CSUF alum, educators, the University and the community at large
  • To provide information on professional growth opportunities
  • To be a professional resource for peer assistance
