6th Annual Wine Tasting Serves up International Fare

6th Annual Wine TastingMore than $1,600 was raised for Alumni Association student scholarships while alumni and friends enjoyed an evening of wine and food under the stars at the beautiful Golleher Alumni House on Saturday, September 26. The new format featured a hearty appetizer reception highlighting international cuisine from France, China, Mexico, Spain, Thailand and Italy. A plentiful array of wines from over eight unique wineries throughout the world showcased the evening. The menu was specially paired by Sommelier Diane DeLuca, who holds a Master Court of Sommeliers Level 2 and co-founded BECOMEvents, an event production venture handling elite scale food and wine themed charity events.

Guests listened to live guitar music and savored exceptional wines and a diverse culinary menu. A silent auction, offering select wines tasted during the evening, directly supported the Alumni Association student scholarship fund.

"My guest and I had a really good time and met new friends too. The variety of foods paired with wines was excellent and the 'passport' format was fun." Karen Bushman '74.

Special thanks to individual donors such as Frogmore Creek and Rebella Accountancy for their individual contributions to the scholarship program. The evening would not have been such a success if not for the numerous wine and food sponsors including 42 Degrees South, Above All Catering, BevMo, Bossa Wines, Cantina Lounge, Colette's Catering & Specialty Cakes, Create-A-Party Rentals, Frogmore Creek, Melrose Catering, OC Custom Wine, Pacific Coast Vineyards, Rebella Accountancy, Thai Basil, Twisted Vine and Vellum Wine.
