Vintage57 Breaks Event Attendance Record and Raises More Than $7,000 for Student Scholarships
A record-breaking 260 Titan alumni, family and friends gathered for a good cause and good time at Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association’s Vintage57 – A Premiere Wine & Food Tasting Experience at the Golleher Alumni House on Saturday, August 27.

Wine Tasting PhotoThe uniquely popular event format featured pairings of international cuisine with eclectic wines from around the globe.  Unlike traditional wine tastings, Vintage57 continues to showcase a fun, relaxed atmosphere with wine, food, music and dancing under the summer sky. Sommelier Diane DeLuca, again compiled a masterful menu that took attendees on a culinary trip around the world with cuisine and wine from Australia, Coastal California, France, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Vietnam and even local stop to the Antelope and Pear Valleys.
Guests outbid one another with fervor during the silent auction which included wine, travel, golf and art items.  All proceeds from the auction benefit the Alumni Association student scholarship program where more than $7,000 was raised that evening.

The evening would not have been such a success if not for the numerous sponsors including Rebella Accountancy, 42 Degrees South & Frogmore Creek, AV Winery/Donato Family Vineyard, Big B’s Barbeque, Cantina Lounge, Colette's Catering Extraordinaire, Country Garden Caterers, Create-A-Party Rentals, El Rocoto, La Finestra Catering & Events, Legacy Mobile DJ, Liberty Mutual, The Melting Pot, The Olde Ship British Pub & Restaurant, Pear Valley Vineyards, Phans55 Vietnamese Bistro & Bar, Rebella Accountancy, Savory36 Catering, Studio94 Photography, Summit Event Catering, Total Wine & More and Trina Tan Photography.

Wine TastingWhat Sponsors and Guests are Saying...
“Our family has participated in numerous wine and food events all over California but the Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association Wine & Food Tasting is our favorite.  The unique concept of having Sommelier, Diane De Luca, work with the Wineries and Caterers to match each food station with a well planned wine pairing makes this an exceptional experience for everyone.  It provides the perfect environment for the attendees to not only enjoy themselves but to truly experience the food and wine offered to the best possible advantage.” - Cyndee Donato, Donato Family Vineyard/Antelope Valley Winery & Titan Parent.

“I had a fabulous time chatting with new and old friends alike. The selection of food, wine, from the many sponsors at the event highlighted the Alumni Association's expert planning.. Keep up the good work.” – Paul Perez ’06
“We enjoyed the wine-tasting event, particularly the opportunity to taste a variety of different wines. The international cuisine was varied and plentiful. We especially liked mingling and networking with fellow alumni, faculty and staff members in an informal, fun setting.  And it’s always gratifying to attend an event that raises funds for students and scholarships.” - Cathi Douglas ’80 & Les Douglas ’80, MA’82
“I had a wonderful time at Vintage 57!  The food and wine were outstanding.  I'm a Cabernet Sauvignon lover and the Cab in the VIP area  was impeccable!!  I made some new friends that night, some who had attended the event for the first time, all were very impressed and are sure to return next year.”- Diane Castillo ’10

“Vintage 57 was FABULOUS!  It is amazing how each year you can improve on this event.  Everyone was having a great time, the food was plentiful and delicious, the wine seemed generous, the centerpieces were beautiful and the silent auction had the most choices to date.” - Verne Wagner ’77
