Stevie Nicks Rocks CSUF's 50th Anniversary
Front & Center 2008

Rock legend Stevie Nicks mesmerized a sold-out audience of nearly 11,000 students, alumni and community friends at the Honda Center in Anaheim, during Cal State Fullerton's 50th Anniversary Front & Center event on Saturday, February 2.

A record-breaking 250 association members enjoyed an exclusive dessert reception held prior to the concert and received special seating on the Plaza Level of the arena.

CSUF alumnus and Master of Ceremonies Marc Cherry'95, creator and executive producer of Desperate Housewives, dazzled the crowd with his witty commentaries and show-stopping song and dance routines. Cherry even donned an outfit of leather and lace as part of a tribute to Nicks' musical history and shared fond memories of his days as a drama student.

Orangewood Children's Foundation was presented the Orange County Titan Award for their 25 years of service to the abused, neglected and abandoned children of Orange County. As part of their continuing commitment to these children in need, Orangewood and Cal State Fullerton began the Guardian Scholars Program. This record-setting program bridges the education gap for foster youth by providing guidance and funding to make college a reality.

Throughout the evening students from the award-winning College of the Arts showcased their talents through personalized performances honoring Nicks, Cherry and Orangewood Children's Foundation. This year's event raised $250,000 for the President's Scholars program.
