Fellow Jerry Goodwin Golf Tournament Supporters,

Thank you for your ongoing participation in the Jerry Goodwin CSUF Alumni Association Golf Tournament.  As the Alumni Association’s annual fundraiser for the last ten years, the tournament has raised over $370,000 to support student scholarships for deserving Cal State Fullerton students across campus. 

Because of your strong ties to the event, I want to share with you a recent decision that was made over much deliberation and trepidation.  In review of programmatic trends, staff restructuring and reassignments and our upcoming budget challenges in the CSU, members of University Advancement, in discussion with Jerry and Marilyn Goodwin, have decided that we will no longer hold the annual Goodwin Golf Tournament.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Jerry and Marilyn for their commitment and generosity to the university and support of this annual event.  Their dedication has allowed the Association the ability to recognize and award numerous outstanding student scholars.

The CSUF Alumni Association Board of Directors remains committed to supporting student scholarship.  They will be exploring new ways to generate monies to support their scholarship program. Please keep this good cause near and dear to your heart.  We will look to you for support in our future endeavors.

For the love of the sport, we recognize that you simply can’t replace a day on the green.  You’ll be happy to note that the university provides several opportunities in which you can participate in a foursome and play to support a good cause.  These opportunities include:

• The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics / Tim Wallach Golf Tournament supporting the student-athletes of Cal State Fullerton. For more information, contact the Athletics Office at 714-278-2777 or pjones@fullerton.edu.
