“Working with the Media” Mixer a Success
NPAA members and their colleagues from non profits throughout Orange County, gathered for the spring mixer in May at the American Heart Association chapter office in Irvine, CA. In addition to casual networking, the group enjoyed a presentation on a topic that is essential for all non profits: How to Work With the Media. Gina Esparza, Vice President, Communications & Marketing for American Heart Association, shared her considerable knowledge and the kinds of gems of wisdom that can only be gained from years of on-the-job experience. Everyone went away with a better grasp of how to communicate effectively with and through the media. We’ll be looking for more stories about them in the press, on the air, and in the blogosphere!
Another highlight of the event was the presentation of the 7th annual $1,000 NPAA Award, funded by contributions of chapter members.
