Andres Carrillo is a graduate student earning his Masters of Science in Biology. He is a first generation college graduate student. His active participation in his community has been invaluable to his department. He works as a Teaching Associate in the Biology department, in addition to his research position at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. His academic accomplishments are numerous, and this is evidenced by his acceptance to the PhD program at UCI in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
He is a member of numerous service organizations including the Biology Graduate Student Club where he served as President from 2010-2011. He was also a lab instructor for the Gear Up program in 2011. Previously, he was awarded the Sally Casanova CSU Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, the CSU Graduate Equity Fellowship, and the Southern California Academy of Sciences Student Research Grant to name a few. Andres is bound for success and we are pleased to honor him with the Outstanding Graduate Award!
