The jazz scene is abuzz about singer/pianist/composer John Proulx. His piano playing is hot and swinging, and his voice recalls the smooth, mellow sounds of a young Chet Baker. John’s latest CD “Baker’s Dozen-Remembering Chet Baker” is a tribute to the late trumpet player and vocalist. It features legendary musicians Chuck Berghofer, Joe LaBarbera, and special guest, Dominick Farinacci on trumpet. John is also a Grammy-winning composer. Jazz legend, Nancy Wilson, recorded “These Golden Years”, a song that John co-wrote with lyricist D. Channsin Berry, for her 2006 Grammy-winning CD, Turned to Blue. Jazz singer, Mary Stallings, also recorded “Stuck in a Dream”, a tune John co-wrote with lyricist K. Lawrence Dunham, on her 2005 release, "Remember Love."

Bruce Forman’s guitar style has been an important part of the international jazz scene for more than two decades. Featured leader as well as sideman at most of the prestigious festivals and concert venues throughout the world, his numerous collaborators include Bobby Hutcherson, Ray Brown, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Joe Henderson, Barney Kessel, and many others. Known for bop-style phrasing and inventive harmonizations, his ability to work in a variety of settings keeps him in constant demand.

Celebrate hits such as "One O’Clock Jump" and "April in Paris" with the world famous big band sensation Count Basie Orchestra as they make their debut at Cal State Fullerton’s stunning Meng Concert Hall. Dating back to the swing era of the mid-1930s, the Count Basie Orchestra is one of the most thriving Big Bands in history. Its nineteen performers are committed to upholding and advancing this “American Institution.” Some members are new, yet the majority of the sound still swings from musicians handpicked by Count Basie himself. Make a memory of this legendary jazz icon as this American musical heritage will touch your heart.
