Current Students: Advising

Dear Music Majors,
Welcome to advising for Fall 2023 Class Registration!

Please read the entire page for all important information!

Advising will be either in-person or virtual, depending on what you and your faculty advisor choose.

The advising period has begun, but each advisor keeps their own schedule. You’ll find your advisor in the list below.

March 13: The Fall 2023 Schedule of Classes goes live; advising for fall begins.
April: Fall registration begins for continuing students; check your portal for your registration window!

To get started:

1. Check the list below to find your assigned advisor. Your advisor is assigned solely on the degree/concentration in which you intend to graduate. Therefore, your advisor might not be the same person as your Area Coordinator.

2. Make note of your advisor’s name and visit TitanNet (link located below the Advisor section). This will take you to a new webpage.

3. In TitanNet, select Advising, then School of Music Advising, then follow the prompts. If your advisor does not appear in or does not use TitanNet, you may email or call your advisor to set up an advising appointment.

4. Before your advising appointment, plan your Fall 2023 courses as well as your courses for future semesters. Your advisor will want from you:

1) What you are planning to take in Fall 2023;

2) What you have already taken for your degree — your Unofficial Student Academic Record; and

3) What courses you will take in the future.
