Academic Probation Advising

What is academic probation? Undergraduate students are placed on  academic probation  status when their cumulative or CSUF GPA falls below 2.0

registration hold ("College/Department Advising Required") will be placed on all students on academic probation. Students on academic probation are required to see an advisor before course registration.

How to remove an  academic probation  registration hold?

STEP 1: Watch Academic Probation Tutorial – please find the appropriate category below
STEP 2: Make an appointment with the College of the Arts Retention Specialist

First-Time Freshmen on Probation  (*After First Fall Semester Only*)

STEP 1: VIDEO:   Academic Probation Tutorial for First-Time Freshmen
STEP 2: 
WORKSHOP : Attend and participate in the "Academic Success Institute" in the month of January. An email will be sent to your CSUF email with instructions on how to sign up for a mandatory in-person workshop, including assignments to complete and bring to the workshop.
STEP 3: ADVISING: Attend and participate in a small group advising session in the month of February. You will receive an email to your CSUF email to sign up for the workshop.

Transfer Students on Probation

STEP 2: ADVISING : Meet with the Retention Specialist

All Other Students on Probation

STEP 2: ADVISING : Meet with the Retention Specialist

To schedule an appointment with the Retention Specialist, please visit the College of the Arts Student Success Center in VA D 280A, by email, or by calling 657-278-4108. You may also visit the Student Success Center during walk-in advising hours.
