Why study Communications at Cal State Fullerton?
This is a great time to be a student in the Departments of Communications,
Radio-TV-Film or Human Communication Studies. We have a great track record
for preparing students for careers in the media, law, education, business,
government, and in health related fields. As you know, the world is experiencing
a communications revolution, and our students are being prepared by top-notch

Faculty in the college emphasize high quality teaching standards, as well as a commitment to the communications profession through scholarly research, publications and conference presentations. These faculty will provide you with inspiration, intellectual challenge, academic and career advisement and the kind of environment that will help you grow personally and professionally.
The College of Communications is equipped with modern laboratory facilities including a sophisticated speech and hearing clinic and voice labs; photography studio; two 20-station computerized writing laboratories; a Macintosh-based graphics laboratory; a digital imaging lab; a television studio, control room, and video editing bays; a film editing laboratory; and a daily newspaper newsroom and production area.
The accomplishments of our talented undergraduate students are recognized annually in a variety of areas. The Daily Titan is one of the nation’s top-rated student newspapers. The online version was rated best in the country in 1998 by the College Press Network and second only to one other university in 1999. Debate & Forensics consistently ranks as one of the best programs in the nation. Students win top national and regional honors in the American Advertising Federation Competition. The communicative disorders program provides national leadership in multicultural and bilingual issues. The public relations program is consistently rated as one of the best in the nation. I work closely with both the Dean of Students and the Dean of the College
of Communications to promote your success as a student. If you have any
concerns about the college, speak to me and I will explain your rights
as a student and help you navigate the system at Cal State Fullerton.
Please see me as questions arise about admissions, internships, academic
policies, and scholarships related to your major. As your Assistant Dean,
I can also help you with leadership development and campus involvement.
