CSET Exams
The state is currently offers the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) to prove subject matter competency in the following CSUF credential areas:
- Art
- Business
- Languages other than English: French, German, Japanese, & Spanish
- Mathematics
- Foundational Level Mathematics
(FLM)
- Music
- Physical Education
- Science: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science (Geology), Physics
- Foundational Level General Science (FLGS)
- Social Science
To prove subject matter competence the student will have to pass all the required subtests in a subject area.
For credentialing purposes a passing CSET exam score must be used within five years of the passing test date.
