Your guests will need tickets for the College/Department ceremony. They will not need tickets for the 8:00 a.m. University Ceremony.
Depending upon venue size and predicted attendance, graduates will receive between five and eight tickets for their guests. If you have further questions regarding tickets, contact your college coordinator.
Student parking permits will not be valid for on-campus parking on May 17 and 18. On-campus parking is restricted to carpools of 3 or more people per car who have a Commencement Parking Pass during Commencement Weekend (May 17, 18). You will be given 2 Commencement Parking Passes for your guests when you pick up your Commencement Tickets. Students are encouraged to carpool with their guests. Non-carpools and those without Commencement Parking Passes will be directed to near-by off-campus parking (ie. Troy HS, Western College of Law, Hope University, etc).
All graduates must file for a Grad Check with the office of Admissions and Records two (2) semesters prior to the semester in which you anticipate completing all requirements for a degree. The form is available in the Admissions and Records Service Center (LH-114). Undergraduate candidates will receive their grad check forms and must have them signed by department advisors and then return them to the Graduation Unit in LH-114. Please view Steps To Graduation for specific deadlines and more information.
Once you have completed your Grad Check through Admissions and Records, you are eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremonies. You will not receive any further information from Admissions and Records regarding Commencement. Each college sends a Commencement Pamphlet to all graduates with infomation regarding the Ceremonies and schedules for the Commencement weekend. If you do not receive this information, you may pick it up in your college Dean's office.
All Commencement Ceremonies and activities will be completed by noon on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. The 8:00am University Ceremony should be completed by approximatly 9:30am and the College Graduations will immediatly follow. If you do not plan to attend the University Ceremony, please arrive as early as possible as traffic and parking become congested. Each of the College Ceremonies will vary in duration; estimations can be found at the college/department pages. Please use this link to find your college/department page.
