Campus Partnerships in the County:
Cal State Fullerton hosts several joint projects working in conjunction with the County of Orange. These projects represent an ongoing partnership highlighting the expertise of Cal State Fullerton's faculty and staff and utilizing this expertise to solve critical needs within the county.
Center for Demographic Research
The Center for Demographic Research (CDR) is a non-profit research center dedicated to the development and support of demographic research. The Center's mission is to provide accurate and timely information regarding population, housing and employment characteristics in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The Center's work focuses mainly on, but is not limited to, demographics in Orange County, California.
The John D. Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center
Over the last 35 years, the county has collected hundreds of thousands of artifacts, specimens and objects associated with archaeological and paleontological investigations throughout Orange County. The county has the responsibility, under federal and state law, as well as its own resolutions, to care for and preserve the collection for current and future generations. In partnership with OC Parks, Cal State Fullerton provides separate professional archeological and paleontological curatorial teams supplemented by volunteers to study and prepare items for research opportunities, curatorial efforts and public display.
North Orange County Economic Development Partnership (NOCEDP)
The North Orange County Economic Development Partnership is a collaborative working group of the University, City of Fullerton, Fullerton Chamber, Gas Company, Orange County Workforce Investment Board and all other Cities and Chambers north of the 91 freeway.
The goal of the partnership is to engage key public and private stakeholders to develop an understanding of the unique economic relationship of North Orange County to the rest of Orange County’s socio-economic environment. NOCEDP is a regional partnership to address key identified issues in job growth and maintenance.
As the City of Fullerton began work on its General Plan Update two years ago, Cal State Fullerton joined the effort to help re-imagine the area immediately south of the main campus. Today, this emerging vision boasts some big ideas that can transform the university district of Fullerton and enhance the CSUF’s connection to the community.
