Concert Under the Stars 2008 celebrates the monumental impact that Walt Disney, a “non-musician,” made on music and popular culture around the world. In 1927, Walt Disney saw the first “talkie” and immediately recognized the potential that sound had for revolutionizing the entertainment industry. By bringing his intuition to life, Disney quickly became known for his creative and innovative use of musical storytelling to establish mood, setting and character, to propel narratives, and to create a visceral, emotional bond with audiences. In fact, music plays an essential role in the success of all facets of Disney entertainment, validated by a preeminent canon: from animation, television shows and feature films, to theme park entertainment and Broadway musicals—all appearing under the label bearing this extraordinary visionary’s name. Don’t miss this magical, musical homage to Walt Disney’s music legacy!
The evening will feature Cal State Fullerton’s talented musical theatre students, The Preeminents, and will also feature performances by the University Jazz Ensemble, Vice President Pamela Hillman, and Cal State Fullerton’s outstanding Theatre and Dance alumni.
So make your reservations online today and join us to celebrate “The Magical Musical World of Walt Disney” and the 25th Annual Concert Under the Stars at California State University, Fullerton.
A fireworks spectacular concludes the evening.
