Focus: Organizations face major challenges with recruitment, retention, development and management of their young professionals, while navigating four generations in the workplace. These organizations often express the need for cross organizational collaborations and knowledge sharing, while creating a common forum to facilitate this process and prepare these young professionals to advance through the workforce pipeline.
Lead Partner: California State University Career Directors
State supported universities are responding to public and legislative expectations for both increased accountability and program effectiveness. Within this context, CREW has partnered with the 23 California State University Career Center Directors to investigate employer needs and perceptions as they relate to centralized career services, as well as documenting case studies of best practice across the system in creating purposeful partnerships between career services and academic affairs.
The Career Center at Cal State Fullerton conducts an ongoing series of student learning outcomes assessments as part of a Student Affairs division-wide assessment initiative. During 2010, a series of four assessments of the student learning outcomes were completed. Both students and employers who have used services provided by Cal State Fullerton Career Center were engaged in these efforts. These assessments measure the impact of Career Services on student learning in the domains of professionalism and self management.
Focus: Upward Synergy aligns Employee Resource Groups to augment their organization's business Return on Investment (ROI). It brings together Executive Champions to optimize high-level,cross-organizational sharing and strategy; conducts original research on best practices in supporting ERG's; and provides concrete guidance to Executives and ERG leaders. Upward Synergy has partnered with the Center for Research on Employment and the Workforce(CREW)to disseminate information on best practices to support Employee Resource Groups.Click here for more details, including a description of current activities and recent publications.
