Workshops and Schedule:
At the conference, you will hear motivational keynote speakers and will participate in a variety of workshops focused on diverse leadership topics. The conference is a good way to meet other college students, participate in networking opportunities, and experience special events, such as our Leadership Carnival.
You can attend workshop sessions focused on the following topics:
1. LEADERSHIP
Workshops which focus on the individual and group skills needed for effective leadership.
2. DIVERSITY/MULTICULTURALISM
Workshops which focus on diversity, racism, advocacy, pluralism, ethnicity, oppression or other current social issues facing our multicultural communities.
3. SOCIAL JUSTICE
Workshops which focus on civic responsibility, volunteerism, activism, and leadership for social or community change.
Keynote Speakers:
Our keynote and closing speakers are inspirational and motivational. Our speakers will help you define your role as a leader and the essential skills needed to be a strong leader in your community. They will share their experiences and offer advice on how to be a successful leader who can LEAD, EMPOWER, ADVOCATE, DISCOVER, EDUCATE and REACT.
Leadership Project: “Hope for Change”
The recent tsunami tragedy has killed more than 150,000 people not including the 168,000 who are missing or injured. Reports are saying that “the worse is yet to come” as over a
million people are homeless and infrastructure is almost non-existent.
The University Leadership Conference and the Volunteer and Service Center have decided to aid this disaster by working with the American Red Cross to bring HOPE to victims of the tsunami.
All conference participants are invited to take a leadership role by donating spare change to this cause. Bring your spare pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters with you on the day of the conference to drop in our hope buckets. All proceeds will go the American Red Cross and will be earmarked specifically for the tsunami disaster relief fund.
Leadership Carnival: GET INVOLVED.
The Leadership Carnival is your opportunity to network and GET INVOLVED at Cal State Fullerton. The Carnival is the place to learn about the variety of different leadership opportunities available on campus. You will also participate in hands on activities that will help you put your “leadership skills” into action. Many Cal State Fullerton organizations will be promoting their various leadership positions and will have information on-site about how you can get involved. Prizes, food, and giveaways will all be part of the fun.
