Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1908 and soon became to be not only the first sorority in America to be founded by Black women, but the first to be incorporated. Inherent in the founding ideals of the sorority, is the goal to improve the quality of life for ourselves, our families, friends and acquaintances while living up to our motto.
