Annual Application for Recognition for Greek Chapters

Registering your fraternity and sorority will assure your organization or council access to the following services:

• Receive a club mailbox in TSU 246.
  
  
• Make reservations for meeting rooms, event areas and office space in the Titan Student Union.
  
  
• Have your club and organization name listed in the Student Organization brochure.
  
  
• Have your club and organization name listed in the Student Organization Center Directory, located in the SORC office as well as on the DOS/Student Life website.
  
  
• Be eligible for office space in the Titan Student Union.
  
  
• Be eligible to participate in DiscoverFest, a two-day fair of student clubs and organizations to showcase themselves to CSUF students.
  
  
• Eligible to reserve on-campus facilities for meetings and events, including classrooms, halls, and space on Titan Walk, ECS Lawn and in breezeways.
  
  
• Eligible to reserve space on campus buildings to hang banners. Obtain posting approvals for flyers.
  
  
• Eligible for Associated Students (ASI) Accounting services.
  
  
• Receive advisement for special events, recognition process, and organizational development.
  
  
• Receive invitations to the Student Leader Recognition Reception and the ability to submit nominations for the annual Outstanding Advisor Award and the Outstanding Student Organization of the Year Award.
  
  

THERE ARE NEW REQUIREMENTS OF STUDENT ORGRANZIATIONS PER THE EXECUTIVE ORDER 969, PER THE CSU CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE. PLEASE READ AND REVIEW.

To be in good standing for the 2006-2007 school year you must follow this step-by-step procedure. Applications for re-recognition and recognition will be available Monday, July 31st, 2006 at the Student Organization Resource Center, TSU 247.

1. Fill out the Club/Organization Application Form beginning Monday, July 31st, 2006.
   
   
   1. Add the new requirements to your current constitution. Click Here to guide you through this process.
      
      
2. Take the application to your Faculty/Staff advisor and to the Coordinator of Greek Life for signature and approval before turning into SORC.
   
   
3. Turn in the Student Organization Resource Center office, TSU 247.
   
   
4. Wait to receive your Official Recognition Letter from the SORC.
   
   
5. Attend Blueprints workshop to be authorized to make reservations.
   
   
6. Get Ready to Have a Successful Year!
