Information and Training Dates

CSUF’s SafeSpace. Program is an opportunity for faculty and staff to Logo - SafeSpacebecome more familiar with issues facing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, as well as resources available to serve this community. Following completion of the two-part training program, faculty and staff will have a better understanding from the student perspective as well as existing research on LGBT community issues. All SafeSpace Allies will also receive a certificate of completion and SafeSpace. Tuffy Decal to display in their offices.

SafeSpace: LGBT 101:
This training provides participants with an introduction to the terminology, developmental process and certain cultural aspects of the LGBT community. The session aims to help bring a basic level of awareness of LGBT issues related to our students.


SafeSpace Ally Training
This training consists of 3 components: (1) a power point presentation that highlights the expectations of allies and focuses on the coming out process; (2) a student panel that explores the LGBT experience on campus, and (3) an opportunity for attendees to practice being allies.
