CSU Scholarship Program for Future Scholars

The CSU Scholarship Program for Future Scholars at California State University, Fullerton, is designed to help finance the first year of studies at CSUF. The Program awards up to fifty $1000 scholarships to first-time freshman/first-time transfer students and is designed to facilitate the transition to college for meritorious students who are disadvantaged due to their economic, environmental, or educational background. The CSU Scholarship Program for Future Scholars honors students who demonstrate strong academic skills and achievements, service to school and home communities, and strength of character.

Amount: $1000

Melinda Guzman Moore Excellence in Multicultural Leadership Award

The Melinda Guzman Moore Excellence in Multicultural Leadership Award is designed to provide recognition to a student who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to student leadership at California State University, Fullerton, and has demonstrated service toward underrepresented individuals and/or socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. The award will supplement the recipient’s educational funding so that they can continue to pursue leadership opportunities at the university and in the greater community while a student at Cal State Fullerton.

Amount: $500.00
Criteria:

• Must be a current student at CSUF and in good academic and disciplinary standing.
• Must be currently enrolled with a minimum of 12 units for undergraduate or 2 units for graduate students.
• Must have a CSUF Cumulative GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate status or 3.0 for graduate student.
• Must demonstrate significant involvement in a student leadership position.
• Must demonstrate service in leadership roles and in the community.
• Must submit a two page essay describing students leadership positions and service to the greater community.
• Must complete application and submit one letter of reference supporting contribution.

Excellence in Student Leadership Award Sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs

The Excellence in Student Leadership Award is designed to provide recognition to a freshman or sophomore student who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to student leadership at California State University, Fullerton. The award is meant to supplement the recipient’s educational funding so that they can continue to pursue student leadership opportunities in their junior and senior years.

Amount: $500.00
Open to:

• Available to students of freshman or sophomore standing.
• Student must demonstrate significant involvement in a student leadership position.
• Student intends to continue in significant leadership positions throughout their college career.
• A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required.
• A one page essay, typed and double -spaced, describing student leadership positions held to date and intentions for future student leadership roles at CSUF.

Priscilla Oaks Emerging Leader’s Award

This annual award is supported by the Priscilla Oaks Memorial Fund. Dr. Oaks was a professor of English at CSUF who was killed in a tragic auto accident in the mid-1980s. Dr. Oaks dedicated her life to supporting Cal State Fullerton’s very early efforts to build students’ multicultural and global leadership skills. This award is designed to encourage and support emerging student leaders whose involvement on campus and/or in the greater community have emphasized support of global understanding and/or support of a multicultural environment.

Amount: $200.00 Scholarship Award
Criteria:

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Cal State Fullerton and in good academic and disciplinary standing.
• Must have a CSUF Cumulative GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate status or 3.0 for graduate status.
• Must submit a Statement of Purpose which addresses the following: “How can I make a difference as a global/multicultural leader?”(Minimum of 200 words).
• Must complete the application and submit one letter of reference that supports your qualifications for this award.
• On-campus involvement of 2 years or less demonstrating exemplary leadership growth and future potential.

Excellence in Greek Life Scholarship

This scholarship was established and funded by Greek alumni of Cal State Fullerton. The scholarship honors fraternity and sorority members who have demonstrated outstanding academic and leadership achievements on campus and in the greater community. A total of 4 scholarships will be awarded annually. In addition to the cash award, the recipients will be recognized at the Greek Life Awards Reception.

Amount: $250.00
Criteria:

• Must be an active member in good standing of an Interfraternity, Multicultural, Panhellenic, or National PanHellenic fraternity or sorority chapter.
• Must be a current student at Cal State Fullerton and in good academic and disciplinary standing.
• Must be currently enrolled with a minimum of 12 units for undergraduate.
• Must have CSUF Cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
