Peer Health EducationThe Peer Health Education Certificate is a collaboration between the Student Leadership Institute and the Student Health Center. This track helps students learn how to teach their peers about living a healthy lifestyle. This track may be of particular interest to Natural Science, Nursing, and Pre-Med majors. Students can earn HESC 494 practicum units and participate in outreach activities (i.e. classroom presentations, campus wide workshops, awareness week activities) that promote healthy lifestyles. In order to receive course credit, students must volunteer at the Student Health Center in addition to completing the training. Students completing the track will receive a certificate of completion and will be recognized at the SLI Annual Recognition Ceremony. OBJECTIVES

REQUIREMENTS To earn the Peer Health Certificate, students must complete Section A and attend weekly meetings (29 total hours of training) If students wish to receive HESC 494 practicum units, they need to complete an extra 11 hours per semester as a volunteer in the Health Education Department of the Student Health Center. Section A: students
will need to complete all the workshops in this section Section B: Weekly meetings occur at pre-determined times. You will need to complete 23.5 hours. *Meeting dates
