- Why did we create ACE?
- In becoming an ACE student you will receive a well rounded education, which will assist you in your personal and professional growth. We created ACE to help you through the process of getting involved, thinking about what you have learned and effectively organizing and documenting your experiences on a co-curricular achievement record “CAR”.

- How does ACE benefit me?
- Think of it this way: your involvement provides you with a tangible set of skills and abilities which can be transferred to other areas of your life, for example: school projects, graduate studies, future employment, and personal relationships. Research studies have shown that students who are active in co curricular activities do much better academically. These skills and abilities will give you an advantage in the workforce, professional career and recognition as a community leader.

- When should I start my co-curricular (CAR) worksheet?
- Immediately! Once you have become involved, we encourage you to start reflecting and documenting your co-curricular experiences on your Co-curricular Achievement Record (CAR) worksheet. You can continuously add more experiences to your CAR worksheet. The faster your experiences are documented after your involvement, the more accurate the information will be. Students who are further along in their involvement should start reflecting immediately as accurately as possible, particularly when documenting skills they have already developed through involvement that has happened in the past.

- How can I use ACE on my resume?
- Your CAR can be used to compliment your resume. You will be able to use your CAR as a resource, by transferring an accurate account of your experiences and skills onto your resume and cover letter.

- So, ACE will help me get a job or into graduate school?
- Future employers and graduate admissions departments realize that an involved student develops core skills (leadership, communication, management, etc.). You will have the ability to concretely describe skills obtained from your co-curricular experience, since ACE helped you reflect on your experiences and develop a CAR to document this information. You will be able to provide examples of how you learned and developed these skills and abilities, and how you apply them to your everyday functions. Your resume will read better as you list specific skills learned for a potential career opportunity. Your co-curricular involvement will show how you are an individual who is prepared to successfully begin a career or graduate program.

- How can ACE help me in a job interview?
- During the interview, in addition to talking about the specifics of your involvement, you can discuss the skills and abilities you have acquired as a result of the co-curricular experiences. You will also be able explain how they are transferable to the job for which you are applying . You will be able to demonstrate that you have accumulated both academic knowledge and practical experience making you a more competitive candidate.
