ENTRY POINT Internship Program
A wonderful program of internship opportunities for college students who have disabilities
and are majoring in computer science, engineering, a field of science, or mathematics. (Some
students in certain business fields may also be considered.)
- AAAS manages the program and serves as matchmaker, linking students
with employers.
- Paid summer internships for students with disabilities.
- Offers are made directly by employers, through their regular
internship programs. (These are not "special" or "segregated"
programs.)
- Employers include IBM, NASA, Texas Instruments, Seagate Technology,
Lucent Technologies, Procter & Gamble, the National Science Foundation.
- Internship sites across the U.S.
- Employers provide competitive pay, on-site mentors, assistive
technology as required.
- Some employers provide housing assistance for interns who relocate
for the summer.
- No cost to the university.
- Students with any type of disability may qualify.
- Qualifying students must:
* Be full-time undergraduate or graduate students
* Major in Computer Science, Engineering, a field of Science, or
Math (Some students in certain Business fields may be considered,
particularly those in Management Information Systems.)
* Have B-average GPA or higher
* Be a U.S. citizen or hold a right-to-work permit
