Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, the intern provides support for the development of any current or future programs within the O & M Process Engineering division. The successful candidate will conduct research, compile information, create presentations, present information, and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. This person will assist the Process Engineering team with plant optimization studies and analytical field tests. The intern will work closely with engineers performing data collection, analysis, bench-scale testing, treatment plant process evaluations, and sample collection. Other responsibilities will include data management through input, trending, mathematical and statistical calculations; report generation; literature research; and development of internal correspondence memorandums.
Job Requirements
This position requires full-time college enrollment in an Engineering or Science program, with a status of at least sophomore standing. All applicants will be required to furnish a current copy of their transcripts indicating "student in good standing" prior to employment with the District. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage information through data entry, analysis, evaluation, and report generation. Aptitude for performing laboratory tests, field studies, research, and literature reviews is preferred. The ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing is highly desired. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including word processing and spreadsheet software. Possession of a valid class C driver's license is highly desired. This internship will run concurrently with school, and will require a minimum of 20 hours of work on-site each week.
Intern Salary Range:
Sophomore = $10/hr.
Junior = $11/hr.
Senior = $12/hr.
1st Year Grad = $13/hr.
2nd Year Grad = $15/hr.
PhD. Student = $17/hr.
