ECS Affiliates Program

“The best way to predict the future is to invent it.”
-- Alan Kay, one of the inventors of Smalltalk
programming language developed at Xerox in the early 1970’s.

We build relationships with individuals and area companies through the ECS Affiliates Program, which is powered by the idea that both private industry, the community, and the university can learn and benefit from working more closely together.

Who will be the next person to come up with an invention or discovery that will change the world? Nobody knows. But it will likely be an engineer or computer scientist, because these fields attract people who have the ability and the drive to find new ways of doing things. They expand the possibilities. They power the future.

The College of Engineering and Computer Science is in the business of training these inventors of the future, striking the right balance between theory and practice, so that our graduates enter the workforce fully prepared to be contributing members of any employer’s team.

ECS Affiliates members are part of this process:

bullet Interacting with faculty in technological exchange and collaboration
bullet Advising on work force trends and issues as they relate to curriculum
bullet Sharing insight and expertise with students through the annual "Professor for a Day" Program
bullet Providing internships and design project topics for students
bullet Supporting the growth of faculty, programs, and technical infrastructure
bullet Investing in talent for the future by contributing to scholarships that help bring the brightest students to our campus.
bullet And finally, recruiting top ECS graduates who will help move local companies and the regional economy forward

You can be among those who drive technological progress and shape society in the 21st Century through the training of students at CSUF’s College of Engineering and Computer Science. Become an ECS Affiliates member today.
