Celebrating Black History Month

Black History Celebration - The Cal State Fullerton NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) Chapter has been invited by President Milton Gordon to attend the Black History Celebration on Wednesday, February 4th at the President’s residence, El Dorado Ranch. The NSBE students will give a presentation on “Why is it important to celebrate Black History Month?” This is the third year our Chapter is participating in this event.NSBE Recruits - On February 16, 2009 the National Society of Black Engineers will host the “NSBE Recruits Day”. The Cal State Fullerton NSBE Chapter has invited students from the Los Angeles and Pasadena Unified School District to visit the Cal State Fullerton campus. Chapter members will talk to students about career opportunities in Engineering and Computer Science and give a tour of the Cal State Fullerton campus. This event is part of NSBE mission to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
What is NSBE?
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is one of the largest student-managed organizations in the country and is composed of more than 30,000 members. NSBE consists of more than 233 chapters on college and university campuses, 65 Alumni Extension chapters nationwide and 89 Pre-College chapters. These chapters are geographically divided into six regions. NSBE's mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.” The Cal State Fullerton chapter has over 20 members and is under the leadership of the Chapter President Bryan Moore who is majoring in Computer Engineering.
