about how to approach a career fair,
how students really get hired, what
hiring managers look for in a resume,
simple interview secrets, and other
strategies for making your best impression
with potential employers.

Alumni Mentor Luncheon
Thursday, February 17
Golleher Alumni House 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Co-sponsored by the Society of Hispanic
Professional Engineers, a two-hour luncheon
will be held for current students and
alumni. Students and alumni will be
seated by major, with separate tables
for Civil and Environmental Engineering,
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
and Mechanical Engineering. Computer
Engineering students will be seated
with alumni working in their field of
interest. Students will have the opportunity
for networking and obtaining advice
about their majors and careers. Alumni
will have the opportunity to mentor
students and build their connections
to the university. Alumni from SBC Services,
the U.S. Navy, Boeing, BV Engineering,
Engineering Resources of Southern California,
Delphi Engineering, and Parasoft Corporation
attended last year.

Engineering and Computer Science
Student Leadership Day
Tuesday, February 22
ECS Quad 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
This event is for all Engineering and
Computer Science students, and includes
a cookout, tables for each of our student
organizations, displays of their projects,
a drawing for prizes, and competitions.
Come eat lunch with students, faculty,
and staff. See the projects, win prizes,
and learn about student organizations
related to your major.

MESA Day
Wednesday, February 23
ECS Quad, Lawn, Classrooms 9:00 a.m.-3:00
p.m.
Approximately 350 students from 6 area
high schools will be on campus for engineering,
science, math and computer competitions
in conjunction with the MESA (Mathematics,
Engineering, Science Achievement) Program's
annual Engineering and Computer Science
Day. The CSU Fullerton MESA Program
serves over 1,400 Orange County students
in grades 6 - 12. Students will come
prepared to test balsawood bridges,
fly balsawood gliders, compete in a
web-page design competition, be judged
on their home-grown crystals, make technical
presentations, and participate in additional
competitions and activities. CSUF Engineering
and Computer Science students are needed
to volunteer as judges, greeters, check-in,
and to encourage younger students to
consider careers in engineering and
computer science.

CSUF Engineering and Computer
Science Open House
Friday, February 25
ECS Classrooms, Labs, and Quad 9:00
a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Counselors and teachers from local
community colleges and high schools
will be invited to Cal State Fullerton
to learn about each of our Engineering
and Computer Science majors. Events
will include presentations, tours of
our labs, faculty poster session, student
project displays, and lunch.
