You will be able to sign up for a Summer 2012 New Student Orientation (NSO) session beginning Monday, April 9, 2012 at 12 p.m.
New Student Orientation is a great opportunity for you to meet fellow new
students and make valuable connections with current Cal State Fullerton
students, faculty and staff. New students who make these connections and
create these friendships tend to be more successful in their transition
to college. In fact, students who attend orientation are more likely to
achieve better grades and graduate!
New Student Orientation (NSO) is mandatory for all first-time
freshmen. If you plan to attend Cal State Fullerton in the fall, you MUST sign up for an orientation program no later than May 17, 2012 at 5 p.m.
Signing up for NSO finalizes your intent to attend CSUF.
If you do not sign up for a session date, you will risk losing your admissions
offer to the university.

| Can My Family Attend? | Family members are highly encouraged to participate in their student’s transition to the university by attending their own Parent Orientation session which is offered at the same time as the student session (PART I ONLY). Parent Orientation is a great opportunity for family members to get acquainted with the university's academic programs and resources, as well as learn more about the transition both students and families will experience during the first year. Cal State Fullerton and New Student Programs strongly believe family participation is invaluable during this time of change, and although not mandatory, participation is strongly encouraged. Attendance is limited to two family members per student. Also, while the session length is the same, students and family members will be attending separate programs. During Parent Orientation, participants will have the opportunity to:
In addition, the Parent Orientation program fee gives family members access to Titan Parents events, newsletters, and information to help their students be successful at Cal State Fullerton. |
| How Do I Know When To Attend? | When you visit the orientation registration website, your orientation session date will be determined by your major (including undeclared students) and/or any specialized university program you are participating in. Specialized programs include: Student-Athletes, University Honors Program, President's Scholars, Freshman Programs, and Summer Bridge. For details regarding your session date or the specialized programs, please visit the New Student Orientation registration website at www.fullerton.edu/orientation beginning Monday, April 9, 2012 at 12 p.m. |

Student Orientation Fee Waiver |
If you have filed a 2012-2013 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal
Student Aid) by the March 2nd priority deadline, you will be considered
for a waiver of the $85 New Student Orientation (NSO) program fee. To
receive an NSO fee waiver, you must qualify for the maximum Federal Pell
Grant, based on a zero "Estimated Family Contribution” (EFC)
as determined by federal guidelines. When you sign up for NSO via the registration website, you will automatically be notified if your fee has been waived. All correspondence from the Office of Financial Aid will be sent to you via your campus email and the TITAN Online system. To access your records through your Student Portal, you must have your username and password available. | What
If I Want to Take Summer Classes? |
All incoming freshmen who do not pass the English and/or Mathematics placement examinations must take the remedial courses their first semester. We strongly encourage you to complete this remedial coursework during a summer session here at Cal State Fullerton. If you plan on taking a summer course, you must choose a New Student Orientation session date that does not conflict with your summer class schedule. For further information regarding summer classes, please click here. Please note: Attending courses during summer does NOT remove your fall 2012 academic advisement hold. Only by attending New Student Orientation can you remove your fall advisement hold and receive priority registration for your fall 2012 courses. |
| What If I Have Special Needs? | If you have any disability related accommodation needs (i.e. large print materials, printed materials converted to Braille, interpreters, etc.) please call (657) 278-3117. The staff in the Office of Disabled Student Services is available to assist you in making the most of your orientation experience. |
